  1. When working with an activated nervous system you often need to first meet your system in that activation to validate the mobiliazed state and discharge the unneeded and excess stress energy. Regulation happens by first meeting your nervous system where it is and then shlowly shifting it to a more optimal state.

  2. Let your body be the guide. So much of this work is about learing to attune to your nervous system and what feels supportive. Different exercises work and feel better for different people. If any of these exercises doesn't feel supportive, skip it. Note the practices that do feel supportive and regulating.
